David is a former solicitor and joined chambers following his call to the Bar in November 2010. David brings a wealth of experience in Family Law. He has worked in South Yorkshire and Humberside for several highly thought of Private Practice solicitors firms, dealing with Financial Remedy matters including High worth cases. He has represented all parties in Public Law Cases. David brings to his practice a degree of common sense and skill which comes with his years of varied experience.

Court of Protection
From 2002 until his call, David was an in house local authority solicitor dealing with predominantly Child related matters including Education appeals and Care and Adoption cases. David has been legal adviser to Adoption panels and to the Adoption Consortium in Yorkshire and Humberside, David has dealt with and acted as solicitor advocate in many significant Child Care cases.
David has also had overall responsibility for matters relating to vulnerable Adults including advising Adults social services on applications.
David has experience of Judicial Review proceedings relating to the responsibilities of local authorities to Children leaving care and Unaccompanied Asylum seeking children and has handled many matters relating to the designation of local authorities in care proceedings. This background has helped David establish himself an extensive Family Practice in Chambers.
Since joining Chambers David has continued to represent all sides of disputes relating to Children in both Private and Public law arena. David has also represented clients in many Forced Marriage applications, successfully applying for protection.
