Naomi specialises in Family Law. She represents Local Authorities, Parents and Children via the Children's Guardian.
Public Law
Naomi appears in care and adoption proceedings involving serious non-accidental injuries, child sexual abuse, physical harm, emotional harm, and chronic neglect cases. She is also instructed with regards to revocation of placement order cases. Naomi regularly accepts instructions from both Local Authorities and Respondents at all levels in public law children work, most recently in the Court of Appeal, and is experienced in dealing with both vulnerable and professional clients in relatively short and lengthy care hearings. Naomi has a particular interest in drafting legal arguments on novel points of law, and is regularly instructed by Local Authorities to advise on the issue of designation.
Additionally, Naomi accepts direct access work from professional clients and expresses an interest and practices in Court of Protection work.
Private Law:
Naomi deals with difficult residence/contact applications and is regularly asked to advise pre-trial and represent the client at all other stages of the proceedings and in all tiers. Naomi has experience in cases involving issues relating to removal from the jurisdiction and permanent removal within the UK.
Further Information
Naomi lectures on current issues in public and private law and is regularly instructed to provide lecturing and training to Local Authorities and firms of solicitors.

R-E (Children)[2011] EWHC (Admin) 1348
Representing Children’s Guardian supporting the Father’s appeal. Local Authority oppose the father’s appeal to review the finding that he had sexually abused his daughter. Appeal allowed – Thorpe LJ and Black LJ consider review of findings to be undertaken as part of the ongoing care proceedings.
