Family:

James has experience in public and private Children Act matters, Special Guardianship and adoption proceedings, having undertaken interim and final hearings in both the FPC and County Courts. Additionally he has also conducted contested hearings at the Principle Registry under Brussels II R. 

James has recently been led in a five week High Court matter involving complex medical evidence relating to non-accidental injuries.

Prison Law:

James is experienced in conducting Parole Hearings along with representation of prisoners at Adjudications.

Crime:

James regularly appears in the Magistrates and Crown Courts and his practice includes advising on a wide range of prosecution and defence matters including trials, sentencing and appeals.

Recent trials include burglary, assaults, public order, road traffic and drug offences. He has appeared on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, Customs & Excise and the Probation Service.

James is one of the few on Circuit to have defended breaches of Violent Offender Orders.

Personal Injury:

James is regularly instructed in personal injury matters including road traffic accidents, falls at work and employers liability.
