Freddy specialises in heavy criminal defence work, both as a leading junior and junior in many cases of murder, manslaughter, rape, child abuse, serious violence and fraud.

 
High profile cases include;
R -v- Lee Clegg
- Freddy was part of the defence team in the successful appeal against conviction in the Court of Appeal of Northern Ireland of a soldier accused of murder on patrol.

 

R -v- Robert Maudsley, represented the 'most dangerous killer in any English Prison', as described by prosecution counsel.

 

R -v- Farrow - part of the defence team in the case known as the 'Wakefield shoe fetish murder' of Wendy Speakes.

 

R -v- Stephen Downing - Freddy was appointed Chairman of the Independant Advisory Group set up to oversee the re-investigation by Derbyshire Police of the murder of Wendy Sewell, 27 years earlier.

 

R -v- Green - Leading Junior, an attempted murder with Freddy leading the defence team in a 'Hell's Angels initiation test'.

 

R -v- Devonshire - Defending a Youth in an attempted murder who had thrown a concrete slab off a Wakefield Shopping Centre.

 

R -v- Taylor - Freddy appeared before the Criminal Court of Appeal that gave a 'new character direction' relating to the calling of co-accused.

 

R -v- I. - Defending a well known captain of a local professional rugby team charged with a serious offence of violence.

 

R -v- Monks - Freddy appeared for the defence in an attempted rape by the defendant who already had five previous convictions of rape.

 

R -v- J. - Appeared for a serving police officer charged with indecent assaults on young boys.

 

R -v- Ajetunmobi - Freddy led the defence in serious fraud case - "Cross Firing of Cheques".

 

R -v- C. - Leading Junior in the defence in the then 'biggest supergrass' case in Yorkshire.
