AREAS OF PRACTICE Family law.
Claire practices in all aspects of public and private child care law and appears in all tiers of the family courts: Family Proceedings, County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal.
Her areas of work include:
Private Law Cases concerning all aspects of the Children Act and Family Law Act. Claire frequently appears in finding of fact hearings involving allegations of serious violence and sexual abuse; applications for leave to remove from the jurisdiction and cases involving implacably hostile parents. All aspects of domestic violence, including injunctions and occupation orders.
Public Law Claire represents local authorities, parents (often with learning difficulties), and children through their guardians. She frequently undertakes care/adoption proceedings and has experience of cases involving physical, emotional and sexual abuse including shaken baby syndrome, fractures, burns, and bruising.
