Amanda practices exclusively in the field of Family Law and is a leading Senior Junior in her field on the North Eastern Circuit.
Her practice covers the full range of Family work and she is very experienced in difficult public law cases involving serious injury and cases involving detailed medical evidence relating to serious sexual abuse. She regularly deals with cases involving allegations of shaken baby syndrome, Munchausen's syndrome, fractures, bruising etc on behalf of Local Authorities, Parents, Guardians-ad-litem and the official solicitor
She also has extensive experience of adoption law and private law, particularly child abduction/removal from jurisdiction.
Recent notable cases:
Kirklees MDC-v-K - acting for the father in care proceedings Re: injuries to child are the culmination of a course of systematic prolonged and ritualised behaviour, effectively torture.
Bradford MDC-v-J - acting for the mother in care proceedings with the local authority seeking findings as to the perpetrator of injuries sustained to the child alleging that the subdural haemorrhages are the result of being shaken
